Hello Neighbors!

Social Events Review

As we get ready to embrace the beginning of Fall, the holidays, and events that come with the season,  I know things will look a bit different due to COVID, but we can still have some fun and community activities. This newsletter is my way of updating and informing each household of what is going on around the ‘hood, and I would love for you to email me your ideas, suggested announcements, and/or news.

New Events

I have exciting announcements about our upcoming Halloween and Christmas events!

Halloween: We will be having a porch decorating contest for Halloween! There will be a First, Second, and Third place winner. Prizes are gift cards for a local eatery, residence picture on the cover of our MagSprings.com, and in-yard signage denoting your placement level! I am hoping this is a success in many ways, from community/holiday spirit to endorsing the local economy! On October 1st I’ll be setting up a sign-up sheet electronically and a physical one located at the Clubhouse to register to decorate or Judge! I can’t wait to see all your spooktacular creations!

Christmas: We will be having our traditional Breakfast with Santa at the Clubhouse on December 5, 2020, from 8 am to 11 am. We will have Santa and Elves for pictures, hot cocoa, and goodies! We will also have some festive circle time activities for the kids! Plan to be there for the Holiday Fun! Sign up sheets will come out later both virtual and physical.

Next is Letters to Santa! Santa has approved our request for an outpost here in Mag Springs! There will be a Blow-up mailbox located at the CH for children(adults can also)drop their letters to Santa. Just be sure to include a return address for him to write back.
Adults! Here are some Christmas events for you! (you can include your children if you choose)
First up is “A Griswold Christmas!”, a larger scale decorating contest than Halloween! You can use lights, bows, wreaths, blow-ups, etc! (NO LIVE ANIMALS)Release your inner “Clark” and wow us! There will be a winner, 1st runner up, and a 2nd runner up. Sign-up sheets will go out virtually and physically at the CH Dec 1st! If you do not wish to decorate you can sign up to Judge!

Alright, for the adult line-up is Christmas Caroling! Looking for volunteers interested in doing door to door Caroling in the community here. I’ll provide the sheet music, candy canes to hand out, and wassail afterward. If you are interested in this contact me. I’ll send out a link for sign-ups mid-October for this! (I’ll post this on the CH, also)

I hope that COVID will not be an issue come January so that we can start some game nights, pot lucks, and poker night back at the CH. If you have any suggestions or tidbits email me! I look forward to continuing to serve you as Social Director and Vice President.
